Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 begins where the Episode 3 has ended. In front of Suguru's eyes, Toji ruthlessly shoots Riko, confirming the failure of the escort mission. Toji, nonchalant, gives Suguru permission to leave and reveals that he has killed Satoru Gojo. Enraged, Suguru commands Toji to meet his end and unleashes Rainbow Dragon, which forcefully collides with Toji, demolishing several buildings in the process. Toji, however, maintains his composure and fires his handgun while being dragged by the dragon, prompting Suguru to summon a cursed spirit to block the bullets.
Suguru descends to a lower area in the Tombs of the Star as Toji escapes the dragon's clutches. Toji, walking around the upper floor of the partially wrecked building, advises Suguru not to be impatient. While Toji elucidates why barriers are ineffective against him, Suguru utilizes the sound of Toji's footsteps to target him. Attempting to strike from the floor below, Suguru finds his curse projectiles easily outmaneuvered by Toji's speed.
Toji continues explaining his ability to navigate through barriers using a cursed spirit and cursed tools, but Suguru interrupts him. Suguru questions how Toji found them without leaving the slightest trace of cursed energy. Toji clarifies that he tracked them in the traditional way, relying on enhanced senses from his heavenly restriction to detect footprints and scents. Suguru's final inquiry concerns Misato Kuroi, but Toji casually states that she is likely dead.
Enraged, Suguru releases Rainbow Dragon once again, lifting Toji into the skies. In mid-air, Suguru hurls numerous cursed spirit projectiles at his opponent, but Toji effortlessly brushes off each one. Toji even cleaves Rainbow Dragon down the middle with a single attack, despite it being the cursed spirit in Suguru's arsenal with the toughest hide.
The Sorcerer Killer lands in the same structure as Suguru, completely unimpressed with Cursed Spirit Manipulation. The remains of Rainbow Dragon fall, destroying the building's support and causing the platform to plummet straight down, skidding down the sides of more buildings until it's ensnared in Kuchisake-Onna's barrier.
Kuchisake-Onna's simple domain enforces a temporary non-violence pact between her and Toji until he answers her question: "Am I pretty?" Toji swiftly analyzes the cursed spirit and dismisses her as not his type. Dissatisfied with his response, several scissor blades materialize, poised to sever several of Toji's limbs. However, Toji swiftly retrieves the Inverted Spear of Heaven from his own cursed spirit and deflects all the blades with incredible speed.
Seizing the distraction, Suguru positions himself behind Toji, but Toji dismisses him as a fool for coming in close. Suguru attempts to absorb the cursed spirit to neutralize Toji's arsenal, only to be rejected. Caught off guard, Suguru falls victim to Toji's swift katana strike, and the fight concludes with a fierce kick.
All of this unfolds in the time it takes for the platform to crash to the ground. Toji spares Suguru, uncertain about the fate of the cursed spirits Suguru absorbed upon his potential demise. As he departs, Toji taunts Suguru, highlighting the sorcerers' inability to defeat a jujutsu-incapable monkey despite their blessings.
During his departure, Toji entrusts Riko's body to the Time Vessel Association representative, Shigeru Sonoda. Shigeru expresses satisfaction with the assassination, admitting they never anticipated preventing the merger. He elaborates on the Star Religious Group's origins and claims they are willing to perish alongside Tengen. Toji finds him eccentric and leaves the room with Shiu Kong once the representative exits.
While walking outside, Toji inquires about mission details, particularly the situation in Okinawa. He invites Shiu Kong to share a meal using their newfound money, but Shiu Kong declines, stating he would only associate with Toji in work or in hell.
Toji prepares to leave but is suddenly confronted by none other than Satoru Gojo, seemingly back from the dead. Delirious and intoxicated by his newfound power, Satoru confidently asserts that Toji is destined to lose because the Sorcerer Killer failed to decapitate him or use the Inverted Spear of Heaven for the finishing blow. Toji disputes this claim, declaring that they're only just beginning. In agreement and approval, Satoru ecstatically shouts before Toji charges at him with incredible speed.
However, Satoru effortlessly evades Toji's attack and retaliates with his first-ever successful activation of Cursed Technique Reversal: Red. The force from Red propels Toji into the city, but he manages to escape without serious injuries. Levitating in the air with a satisfied smile, the awakened Limitless user, Satoru, elicits Toji's acknowledgment as a monster.
Toji regains his composure, reviewing his knowledge of the Limitless. He attaches the Chain of a Thousand Miles to the Inverted Spear of Heaven, swinging it around and gearing up to face Satoru. As Toji hesitates for a moment, feeling that something is amiss, he disregards the intuition and convinces himself that everything is fine. He launches the Inverted Spear of Heaven at Satoru multiple times, but the Six Eyes bearer effortlessly dodges each strike with minimal effort.
Apologizing for his lack of sorrow over Riko's death, Satoru attributes it to the overwhelming high he's currently experiencing, feeling invigorated. While striking a pose and looking down at Toji, Satoru confidently declares himself the sole honored one throughout heaven and earth. Being from the Zenin clan, Toji is aware of the Limitless's abilities, but Satoru reveals a lesser-known technique within the Gojo clan—the formidable Hollow Technique: Purple. In a single shot, Satoru overwhelms Toji with the power of Purple, defeating him decisively.
As Toji is struck, he reflects on his earlier sense that something was amiss. In normal circumstances, he would have declared, "I refuse to work for free," and promptly fled as soon as Satoru appeared. However, this time, Toji sought to reject the jujutsu world by eliminating the strongest sorcerer, only to find himself twisted in the process. Now, with nearly half of his body obliterated by Purple, Toji concedes that he lost the moment he lost sight of who he truly was.
After defeating Toji, Satoru inquires if he has any final words. Initially, Toji claims he doesn't, but then he thinks of his child, Megumi, revealing that the child will be sold off to the Zenin clan in two or three years. Toji nonchalantly instructs Satoru to do whatever he wants with that information.
Later, a recovered Suguru locates Toji's inventory cursed spirit and absorbs it before rejoining Satoru. He's surprised to see Satoru recovering Riko's body from the Time Vessel Association and is even more astonished by the changes in Satoru's demeanor. Suguru questions what happened, and Satoru takes responsibility for Riko's death. He asks Suguru if they should eliminate all the non-sorcerers applauding around them, celebrating her demise.
Suguru dismisses the idea, stating that the association will collapse soon, and Satoru questions the necessity of having a point. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 ends on a high note. As he walks away, surrounded by oblivious non-sorcerers, Suguru quietly remarks that it's crucial for there always to be a point, especially for jujutsu sorcerers.
