This is the recap of the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 3!
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 3 begins where the Episode 2 has ended. Misato Kuroi gets abducted by non-curse users as Suguru leaves her side to assist Satoru in safeguarding Riko. They regroup and discuss their options.
Despite Riko's desire to help, Satoru remains firm that he'll leave her behind if it jeopardizes Kuroi's chances of survival. He also warns her that they'll disregard any pleas for her to return home during the mission if she accompanies them. The rescue unfolds smoothly, and the four of them unwind and play on a beach in Okinawa. Opting for a plane, they meticulously inspect everyone onboard following the kidnappers' choice of Okinawa for the exchange.
Kuroi questions Suguru about the enemy's intentions to seize control of the airport, potentially trapping Riko in Okinawa and hindering her timely arrival at the merger. Suguru discloses that they've considered this scenario, and backup, comprising Jujutsu High first-year students Kento Nanami and Yu Haibara, has already been dispatched to patrol Naha Airport. Despite Nanami's skepticism about the assignment for first-years, Haibara urges him to give their hardworking senpai a reason to be proud.
Meanwhile, the "hardworking senpai" continue their leisure on the beach when Satoru decides to postpone his return to Jujutsu High until the next day, opting not to go back that night. Suguru grows concerned as Satoru, who hasn't released the Infinity or slept since the mission's commencement, plans to delay his return. However, Satoru reassures Suguru, citing the presence of his best friend as a source of support.
Haibara enthusiastically informs Nanami about their decision to stay the night, provoking irritation from him. Satoru and Suguru make the most of the tropical setting, ensuring Riko's last days are memorable. They take her sightseeing, to a fancy dinner, and to an aquarium where Riko is captivated by the fish.
The following day, the escort mission heads back to Jujutsu High, marking the conclusion of the timer on Riko's bounty. Suguru commends Satoru for his hard work, and Satoru finally releases his Infinity. Expressing his desire to avoid babysitting in the future, a sudden turn of events unfolds. A sword unexpectedly pierces through Satoru's chest, as Toji Fushiguro stabs him from behind, catching everyone off guard.
Suguru is perplexed about how Toji breached the barrier, and Satoru questions if they've met before. While keeping the blade through Satoru's chest, Toji confesses he doesn't recall names easily and recounts a childhood encounter with Satoru, driven by the desire to witness the Six Eyes. Toji explains that this was the only instance in his life when someone acknowledged his presence from behind. Knowing he had to wear down the Six Eyes bearer to dull their senses, Toji aimed for a successful sneak attack.
Satoru employs Blue, propelling Toji into the air, while Suguru summons a colossal worm-like curse to consume the assassin. Afterward, Suguru checks Satoru's wound, but Satoru assures him that the vital areas were unharmed, having reinforced himself with cursed energy. Confident in his ability to handle the situation, Satoru instructs Suguru to continue with the escort.
Toji, however, cuts his way out of Suguru's cursed spirit using a different sword than the one he used to stab Satoru. Additionally, a cursed spirit is entwined around Toji's body. Despite Satoru's initial attack, Toji acknowledges his rustiness and confesses that he intended to kill Satoru with the first strike.
Satoru discloses that the bounty time limit has lapsed, and Toji reveals that he set the timer himself. Toji explains that he created false goals and implemented the timer because the Six Eyes bearer might not have released the Infinity until the mission concluded. Satoru attempts to strike Toji with Blue, but Toji effortlessly evades it with remarkable speed. Utilizing the cursed spirit entwined around him, Toji swaps his sword for a smaller dagger. Satoru realizes that Toji not only possesses incredible speed but also lacks cursed energy and has a heavenly restriction that grants him immense physical prowess.
Toji moves unpredictably at breakneck speeds, but Satoru manages to catch him with Blue as he approaches, sending him crashing through several buildings. Satoru mocks his opponent for not allowing him to get close with his new weapon, only to realize that Toji has vanished. Unable to track Toji's movements due to the absence of cursed energy and his incredible speed, Satoru decides to clear the immediate area with a Maximum Output: Blue, eliminating any cover for the assassin.
To counter, Toji releases a swarm of fly heads, acting as chaff smoke to disrupt Satoru's senses. Although Satoru's Infinity halts the fly heads, it creates additional blind spots despite his earlier efforts. Concerned that Toji may target Riko, Satoru, in a defensive move, makes the fatal mistake of turning his back. Seizing the opportunity, the Sorcerer Killer pierces through the Infinity, stabbing Satoru in the neck with the special grade cursed tool: Inverted Spear of Heaven, capable of forcibly stopping any cursed technique it contacts.
Before Satoru can effectively respond, Toji slashes him numerous times across his body and legs, ultimately stabbing him in the brain with a second non-cursed tool knife. With victory secured, Toji smiles and claims he's starting to regain his edge.
Suguru accompanies Riko and Kuroi to the Tombs of the Star. After descending the elevator, Riko and Kuroi share a heartfelt farewell. Suguru then guides Riko down a hallway to a platform overlooking the main hall. He provides her with instructions on reaching Tengen and gives her the option to return home with Kuroi if she wishes, surprising and confusing Riko. Suguru discloses that their teacher, Masamichi Yaga, termed the merger an erasure to emphasize its gravity. Both Satoru and Suguru agreed to support the vessel's decision, even if it meant opposing Tengen.
Riko, initially resigned to her fate of merging with Tengen, becomes emotional and expresses her desire to continue living alongside everyone. Suguru extends his hand to take her home when she is abruptly shot in the head, dying before him. Toji reveals himself, instructing Suguru to go home since the escort has failed. Stunned and bewildered, Suguru questions why Toji is in the Tombs of the Star. With a triumphant grin, Toji proudly declares that he has killed Satoru Gojo. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 3 ends on a cliffhanger as Enraged Suguru summons two formidable cursed spirits, Rainbow Dragon and Kuchisake-Onna, and commands Toji to meet his end.
